Social Tennis

No competition, no pressure — just a hit and a chat

You don't need to be in a team to play at Burden Park. Social tennis is open to everyone, every standard, for the price of a coffee.

When & how much

Tuesday and Sunday mornings, $5

Available Tuesday and Sunday mornings — new members and casual players of all standards are welcome to come along and join in.

Beginners are encouraged to have coaching lessons before attending.

Turn up, pay your $5.00, and you'll be on a court. No booking, no team commitment — just come as you are.

Community BBQ Nights

The barbecue is as much a part of the club as the courts

Whether it's the $5 social session on a Sunday morning or the courts lit up for a Tuesday night, the barbecue under the clubhouse shelter is rarely far away. It's where new members stop being new — you play a set, then you stay for a snag and end up talking to half the club.

The clubhouse itself is built for it: a fully equipped kitchen, an outdoor shelter and a barbecue, largely kept running by the volunteer members who use it. If you're not sure whether to come along on your own, this is exactly why people do.

Ready for your first hit?

Beginners are encouraged to take a coaching lesson first — after that, just show up on a Tuesday or Sunday morning.
